Today is Project for Awesome 2009 on YouTube!
Which means a whole bunch of awesome people (including the awesomeness of John & Hank Green, who dreamed this all up in 2007) make videos promoting charities--and then everyone else (meaning all of you and us mods) watches, rates, and comments so the videos are featured as the most watched, rated, and commented on YouTube's homepage.
THIS IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE, GUYS. CHARITIES ARE GOOD. So we're promoting it with our mod power. What else are you doing today? Reading or writing fanfiction? Making graphics? Mindlessly checking your flist? Do this insteeeeeeeeead. EDWARD CULLEN WOULD WANT YOU TO DO IT. p.s. we'll ban you if you don't. jk. or are we?

What makes the stars of the Twilight series so idolizable? It's partly that ineffable combination of dirtiness and innocence: they're sexy, but they're not sexual. They're also not generically beautiful. God knows they're hot enough, but they look interesting too. Intelligent. Slightly askew. You don't just want to look at them or sleep with them; you want to talk to them. Like the vampire Pattinson plays onscreen, you can see that once upon a time they were merely human, just like us.
